Hi everyone, I hope you have missed me. I am back with my Roman Empire. Today, I’ll be talking about Kdramas. I will be describing two scenes that are always on my mind.

The first scene I'll describe is the one in Hometown Cha Cha Cha when Hye Jin and Doo Sik first officially begin to date. He walks in after having a talk with her Sunbaenim, his rival, and she immediately starts hounding him with questions about how it went. He sidesteps her cleverly and answers her questions in his roundabout funny way except that's not my favourite part. My favourite part is when she begs him to keep their relationship a secret from the other people in the Hometown. He knows what she's trying to do, and he immediately disagrees with her by saying it wasn't going to work and everyone would find out anyway. She starts to pout and turns away in disappointment that he wasn't taking it seriously enough. What I love the most is what he does next. He stares at her with a look of complete adoration as if her disappointment 😞 was impossible for him to bear and he goes "Okay I'll do whatever you want". He knew that it was going to blow up in their faces, he knew the town enough to see it all come crashing down but he was completely smitten with her and in that moment chose to make her happy over common sense. Hands down a swoon worthy moment. The way her whole eyes lit up right after and he asked with a slight bend of his head, "are you happy?" And she nods rapidly is the perfect way to wrap it up. In that moment Doo Sik just won a thousand bucks!
Scene 2
This is a similar kind of scene in Run On. Seon Gyeom and Mi Joo were walking after she randomly showed up at his front door the day after they started dating. As they walked side by side you could see the joy radiating off of them, the awkwardly staring at each other couldn't dampen that joy. Seon Gyeom asked Mi Joo if she showed up because she missed him and she immediately responded with sarcasm, "You wish!". He told her he missed her then they continued walking and had a perfectly normal small talk on diaries and childhood. Then here comes my moment. She suddenly stops walking and tells him she was sorry for being curt and dismissive just now, that she shouldn't have deflected and replied that she didn't miss him when she truly did. It was something terrible about her that she hated and was truly sorry for. It is a sweet honest moment, one that I truly appreciate. Mi Joo is very self-aware, but it was Seon Gyeom's response that I live for. He tilted his head sideways (apparently, I love this because it was in the last scene too) nodded and looked at her so lovingly like he couldn't begin to explain how she made him feel if he tried. He stared in wonder, I'll say. Then held out his hand to her and asked, "Do you want to hold hands?". She clasped his hand, and they continued their walk, but that response and his expression is etched in my memory. It said I see you; I accept you; you don't even have to ask but I'm glad you were honest with me and I'm not going to hold a mistake over your head; I'm just going to show you how to love honestly. It said I love you without ever saying anything. Love ❤ it!
Those two scenes are written in a way that emphasizes how the men feel about their partners. But not just how the men feel but how they understand their partners. It never fails to warm my heart seeing the men care for their partners. I love it so much 🥰. So, this is your sign to write men who are not just caring but also emotionally intelligent. Use scenes that might be little but meaningful.
Keep on creating, keep on reflecting, keep on being.
