It’s that time of the year again, when everyone reflects on how the year has gone. I love seeing Spotify Wrapped and the YouTube year in review and watching everyone on Booktube do their yearly wrap up so I thought why not share my own journey this year with you all. Here we go.
- Creative
This year was so distressing for me that I did not work on any of my projects. I barely wrote anything creative. I have a collection of short stories that I am working on but I did not get to it. So there’s not a lot to wrap up here.
On the other hand, we did start this blog this year and managed to be consistent so yay!
- Books

If there is a part of the internet that has brought me joy this year, it is BookTube so you would imagine that I read more books no? (The joke is on me)
Usually my goal for every year is 50 books but because life was lifing this year, I decided to make it 45. I have currently read 43 books - 4 of them being audiobooks (in my audiobook era).
My favourite read this year was Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. I cannot believe I have lived this long without Henry Tilney in my life (book boyfriend unlocked).
My contemporary favourite (I mean who has only one favourite book) was The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. It was so good, I could not concentrate at work until I finished it.
I would add an honourable mention which is The RomCon by Devon Daniel. It had me giggling and kicking my feet in the first 50%.
As a writer myself, I don’t like critiquing other people’s works so I’ll keep my least favourite to myself.
Thank you for reading Creative Club. This post is public so feel free to share it.
- Movies/TV Shows

I watched about 20 to 25 kdramas this year but not a lot of movies so I do not have a lot to say here.
I enjoyed Julia Roberts and George Clooney in Ticket to Paradise and the romcom, Love at First Sight.
I did not enjoy Gabrielle Union’s The Perfect Find (Don’t take my word for it, I’m very picky) and I have no idea what was going on in Love, Again (Sorry Celine). That was the worst.
My absolute favourite kdrama this year was of course, Our Blues. I also really enjoyed Twinkling Watermelon. See you in my 19th Life will be my honourable mention.
My least favourite was True to Love/Bora Deborah. It was just there.
- Music

Unless you have been living under a rock, then you should know this was the year of Taylor Swift. 1989 is my all time favourite album and to finally have 1989 Taylor’s version is a gift that just keeps giving. The vault tracks are everything, I mean it gave us “In a world of boys, he’s a gentleman” (screaming, crying, throwing up).
Yet, I have to say my favourite song of the year goes to the Country duo Maddie and Tae. Their song, Heart they didn’t Break, is a love song to girlfriends and sisterhood.
I am not much of a music person so I do not have a lot to say here but basically Taylor and Maddie and Tae were all I listened to this year. Honourable mention to Lauren Alaina for the masterpiece that is Getting Good.
And that is my wrap up. What about you? What was your creative year like? Do let me know in the comment section.
And as always, keep creating, keep reflecting, keep being.
